Cogswell Sprinkler Co. Inc, a Worcester fire protection installer, is building a 20,721-square-foot warehouse and fabrication facility at 11 Canterbury St., across the street from its main operations, according to documents filed with the Worcester Planning Board.
The new facility was approved by the Worcester Planning Board on June 16. Cogswell is facilitating the project under the separate Jake Properties LLC, which is registered to Jeffrey and John Cogwsell, two of the co-founders of Cogswell Sprinkler, according to corporate documents filed with the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth.
The building will be used as a warehouse and fabrication facility with portions of the building being occupied by the supporting offices.
Cogswell Sprinkler didn’t return requests for comment on the project.
The Worcester Zoning Board of Appeals granted a special permit since the existing building along Canterbury Street is a pre-existing non-conforming structure that does not adhere to the current front yard setback.
The building site fronts along Canterbury Street and abuts the Providence & Worcester Railroad to the south, David’s Service Center to the east, and the Iglesia Casa De Oracion to the west.
